The SERPs will most likely choose to display your meta-description, so it needs to be captivating to encourage people to click through and read your blog. You only have 156 characters to play with, so every word has to count! The reason that most SEOs don’t know technical SEO is because they don’t spend enough time meeting and talking to web developers. Search engines place a lot of weight on the content of each web page. After all, it is this content that defines what a page is about, and the search engines do a detailed analysis of each web page they find during a crawl to help make that determination Keywords are still an important part of SEO, but relevance can often be figured in more abstract ways.

Group your target keywords into 3 different buckets

As other search engines become the default Web browsers instead of Google, it makes sense to optimize for those search engines as well. Although traditional advertising can still play an important role in marketing, for small businesses with limited budgets, local SEO can be a highly effective, low-cost alternative to other paid marketing methods. It has been commonly known that having multiple domains linked to one website, often improve rankings. However, although this may be true, if you plan to register multiple domain names, you should keep them as relevant to your main keywords as possible, even if you put hyphens between the keywords. This means that your website address is more likely to appear higher up the search engine rankings. Frequent link audits can save your site from the dangers of negative SEO. If you constantly monitor your links, it’s easier to spot a sudden change before it becomes uncontrollable.

Easy wins – existing relationships are an instant source of backlinks

Contrary to popular belief, linking out to relevant external websites does not directly impact your search rankings. Ultimately, SEO done correctly can land your website on the first page of the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Pages), and that is always the goal behind SEO. Why? Because most people doing web searches will not look past the first, and sometimes the second, results page when they’ve done a search. So the first page is where you want to be. The entire mentality of a search engine is to provide the best possible result to the searcher that satisfies their original search query. They do this by evaluating a site’s content in reference to the search and the quality of the site and its content. SERPs (search engine results pages) are not solely determined by keyword usage and links. An equally important factor in determining where websites will appear in search results is the often-overlooked intent of the consumer.

Linking to popular or recent posts

If you have different sections of your site, or domains for each country, enter each one in the relevant directories: Google Places, Bing Business Portal, or any other directory that’s relevant to your region. Including your target keyword within your page title positively correlated with higher search rankings. Every website has its own issues, but all websites benefit from optimizing the conversion rate. It really doesn’t matter if your goal is more sales, more Facebook likes or more newsletter subscribers. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "There are an awful lot of people making obscene amounts of money online, compared to traditional business owners by pushing unethical SEO techniques or black hat SEO if that’s what you prefer to call it. Why do they do it? Simply because it works and it is making them loads of money."

Failing To Optimize Keywords

While most of the links to your site will be gained gradually, as people discover your content through search or other ways and link to it, Google understands that you'd like to let others know about the hard work you've put into your content. Take a look at which sites are currently winning the front page for the phrase you are hoping to win. Then, go ahead and link to a few of them within your own content. It can be within the body of the text, or you can include a few links at the bottom with a “More on This Subject” type of call to action (CTA). It may seem like this could lead eyes to a direct competitor, but don’t be afraid to break the mold and link to them anyway. When improving your page speed, you should always ask yourself if you need all these assets, libraries, images, plugins, theme features and so on. The famous saying “less is more” is still as valuable as ever. Audit links back to your website and make sure they’re primarily from trustworthy, reputable websites.
