When writing a new post, always link to previous relevant articles you have written. That will help your users spend more time on your website by visiting other useful articles. When you are brought on to handle the SEO for a particular website, one of the first things you need to find out is which SEO activities have previously been attempted As a general rule of thumb the more words in the query the easier it is to rank for that phrase. This is certainly not an absolute but has been the case for a majority of the terms I have worked with. *If you know of examples where this theory does not hold up, please share in the comments. While SEOs aren’t generally user experience experts, we do have a set of SEO techniques and tools that let us build a fantastic, user-targeted website. Specifically, we structure web content based on user demand.
Understanding searcher intent
Link reclamation can help you get fresh links by finding broken links to your site and having the publisher fix them. Meta search engines are
search engines that aggregate results from multiple search engines and present them to the user. Efficient use of content is necessary to create a positive experience for the visitor. Ideally they find what they are looking for quickly, they extract the information they need, and they take whatever actions they desire without obstruction. Google doesn’t only consider on-page SEO score when ranking an article. It also takes into account many other factors like social media signals (shares, likes, tweets, follows, etc.), backlinks, domain authority, and many other off-page metrics.
SEO tactics that work
Share your good posts. Educate those in your circle. Solve their problem and encourage them to leave a comment on your campaign. There’s strong evidence that
click-through rates will influence your website’s Google search ranking, though this is difficult to confirm given the company’s secrecy surrounding their algorithms. The source of a link matters a great deal to how much weight it carries in Google’s algorithm. Google can, and does, ignore low relevance links. The worst offenders are generic links (“click here”) and even worse, off-topic links.
Check for broken links on your website
It takes time to research your market and industry. It takes time to perform the necessary analyses. And it takes time to product quality content. Yes, "content is king" – but that's only half the story. Imagine if Wikipedia, one of the world's most popular sites, offered no more than huge blocks of text, or if Google cluttered its search interface with distracting graphics. It's unlikely that either site would have become as successful as they are today. When content and design work in harmony, users will find your site more easily and stay there longer. Off-page SEO factors are as important as on-page SEO factors. To have a successful SEO optimisation, both should be done. Earlier it was still easy to rank by building spammy links but, after the penguin and panda updates, its much difficult. Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant
, commented: "The prospect of Google penalties strikes fear into the hearts of most webmasters -- or at least the ones who don’t fully understand them."
If it isn’t on Google, it doesn’t exist
Local SEO is all about promoting your site at the exact moment potential customers are looking for your type of product, and in your area. It’s about appearing in the main search results or within the map listings when your audience uses a local search term, such as plumber in Manchester, or when a search engine can tell their location. Pick a list of
words relevant to your business. Then create separate lists of
these keywords for each country. Focus on “long-tail keywords” -- keywords
that are very specific to your business and the products/services you offer. For
example: marketing is a broad keyword that will be hard to get traffic for, and
inbound marketing software is a long-tail keyword with less competition that
will be easier to get traffic for. Top-ranking webpages in Google have shorter URLs. Most webmasters believe Google crawls their website in one go and will continue until everything’s crawled.
