Rather than targeting a broad audience, local SEO is about chiseling down and honing in your reach to target a specific group of people living in a certain area. It’s all about making the most of the existing relationships, communities, and consumer ties. Content Creation is the basis of any website. Whether it is written word, audio voiceovers, informational videos or some other content, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes you just can’t target a specific keyword on a product or service page of your website – it just won’t fit and look natural. In these instances you can always take advantage of having a blog. Do a quick Google search for that keyword and check what other pages rank. Did you migrate from HTTP to HTTPS or are planning to do so? If so, it’s best to monitor after so you can gauge the impact on rankings and traffic.
Feedback driven SEO
A comprehensive keyword research enables you to discover which words work in your line of field and attract the most attention. It also provides you with opportunities to create new content or improvise your previous posts by including relevant keywords. Use your website to
communicate your value proposition and your general marketing
messages (known as “high-level messages”). If there is one page which should be optimized for generic
keywords, it is your homepage. SEO’s need to have the skill and experience to help the client develop a social media strategy, deliver training and support, create policies and processes and ensure their clients up-skill accordingly so that social media contributes to the wider commercial objectives of the client not just the SEO objectives of the agency. The content on your site should be organized in a logical way. This is not only good for SEO, it also helps visitors on your site find other related content easily.
No-index or Remove Thin Pages
Ensure the number of visits and new visitors from within your target market is increasing. Flash, undoubtedly tempts attraction,
but it has the bad side too. Flash is like Hulk- Big and Bulky! Flash objects are famous for overloading and even crashing web pages. Another loophole with flash is that it is incompatible with mobile devices. Crafting quality titles for product pages, articles, blog posts, lists and all other written content is what gets that content noticed by search engines. It might not make sense at first, but long and ugly titles containing lots of descriptive information are actually the best types of titles around. Each algorithm change brings the search engine closer to its intended purpose. It’s getting harder and harder to “game the system” with exploitive linkbuilding strategies and blackhat SEO.
Tags, tags, tags!
Google and other search engines keep the inner workings of their algorithms a secret. All we can do is speculate and test. The problem with speculation is that if an idea seems believable, it becomes eagerly accepted as truth without the data to back up the speculation. Many details are involved in good SEO, from the words on each page, the words used in Page Titles, H tags, internal links, alt tags, image file names, on-site content and on-site content types, consistent name, address and phone number information (NAP), social signals, local signals, citations from other sites, how fast your site loads, the presence of a SSL certificate, the sites that you link to elsewhere on the Web, the websites that link to you, and the structure, code and placement of that code on your site. The days of stuffing keywords into bad content and having it rank are long gone. Now your content needs to focus on your target persona and your keywords need to flow within the content. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull
, had the following to say: "Ensure that your site is set to load at either www.domainname.co.uk or domainname.co.uk – not both. There is a technical difference between the two, but for most people it shouldn’t matter either way as far as you stick with your preference and redirect the non-preferred to your preferred one."
Spiders and bots, oh my!
Once you create your blog, stick to the same domain for as long as you continue to publish. You could end up losing a lot of your organic traffic, your readers and all your search engine listings if you decide to move or change your domain and URLs. You may not have
the resources to create locale sites for each country or
language you want to target. In that case, add Google Translate to your site to
ensure that your website visitors can see your content in their language (even
if it’s not a perfect translation). If a search engine recognizes cloaking it will penalize the website by permanently removing it from the search engine index. The website will no longer appear in search results. If you’re hesitant about the effectiveness of SEO, it’s safe to assume you don’t have much technical experience with website development or programming -- and that the prospect of technical SEO intimidates you.
